Description
Theoretical investigation of the propagation of three-dimensional Skew cosh Gaussian (skew-ChG) laser beam in anisotropic collisionless plasma has been done. In the present investigation, a combination of extraordinary (E) mode of beam along with symmetry in skewness parameter and order of skewness have been considered. The nonlinear differential equations of beam width parameters are obtained using Akhmanov's parabolic equation approach under WKB and paraxial approximations. Common domains of skewness parameter (s) is obtained analytically for given order of skewness (𝑛=1–4) and propagation of skew-ChG laser beam is studied within that domains. Effect of skewness parameter and order of skewness is studied on the propagation of beam wherein enhanced self-focusing is observed for skew-ChG laser beam as a result of an increase in s and n. The results are shown graphically. (author)
