Airborne gamma-ray spectrometer and magnetometer survey: Elmira quadrangle (New York). Final report

Description

Ten uranium anomalies meet the minimum statistical requirements as defined in Volume I. These anomalies are tabulated and are shown on the Uranium Anomaly Interpretation Map. Potassium (%K), equivalent Uranium (ppm eU), equivalent Thorium (ppm eTh), eU/eTh, eU/K, eTh/K, and magnetic pseudo-contour maps are presented in Appendix E. Stacked Profiles showing geologic strip maps along each flight-line, together with sensor data, and ancillary data are presented in Appendix F. All maps and profiles were prepared on a scale of 1:250,000, but have been reduced to 1:500,000 for presentation in Volume II. Anomalies number 1 to number 3 are over areas underlain by shales and sandstones of the upper Devonian Nunda Formation (Dwn). Anomaly number 4 is over an area underlain by shales and sandstones of the upper Devonian Conneaut Group (Dct). Anomaly number 5 is over an area underlain by upper Devonian Beers Hill Shale, Dunn Hill Shale, Millport Shale, and Moreland Shale
