Erosion and redeposition at divertor plate

  • 1. Japan Atomic Energy Research Inst., Naka, Ibaraki (Japan). Naka Fusion Research Establishment

Description

The erosion characteristics of the carbon based divertor armor tiles in the JT-60 divertor are overviewed. The results show that the sputtering yield of the strike-point area is 20% lower than that of the bulk material. On the other hand, the sputtering yield of the tiles with redeposited layers is 10-20% higher than that of the bulk material. The distribution of tritium inventory in the JT-60 divertor armors is also reported. (author)
