Description
A radiometric method based on substoichiometric isotope dilution analysis has been developed for the determination of mercury using cetyl trimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB) as the substoichiometric reagent. The method is based on the extraction of mercury as an iodocomplex with the above reagent. A detection limit of 0.6 μg in 10 ml of aqueous volume could be achieved. The method has been applied to study the recovery of mercury in various synthetic mixtures. (author)
