Description
Progress in actinide extraction chemistry for period 1985-1989 is discussed. A search for TBP substitute is considered. For U, Np and Pu extraction, and for transplutonium elements, the most recent results in the US and USSR are overviewed. The AAS effect (Anomalous Aryl Strengthening) is treated in detail. The applications of various extractants are described. (R.P.) 40 refs.; 20 figs
