Studies of plasma processes using a flowing afterglow/langmuir probe (FALP) apparatus
Description
With the flowing afterglow/langmuir probe (FALP) apparatus it is possible to determine: spatial variations in electron density nsub(e), positive and negative ion densities n+ and n- and the electron temperature Tsub(e) in afterglow plasmas. Several applications, mostly carried out by the authors, e.g. measurement of dissociative recombination coefficient αsub(t), electron attachment coefficients β and studies of binary ionic recombination are outlined. More detailed accounts of these investigations are given in other papers of the authors in the same seminar. (G.Q.)
