Experimental investigation of electron bunch dynamics in nonlinear beam-plasma interaction
Description
Previously the profile of the longitudinal electric field wave in the nonlinear beam-plasma interaction was measured and also the considerations were given that the nonsinusoidal wave profile observed is due to a strong beam electron bunching. Here a spatial evolution of the nonlinear electric field wave profile in the beam-plasma system has been directly studied experimentally and the bunch dynamics in the wave field analyzed from these measurements.
