Description
This article describes the whole process, safety Measures and radiation monitoring in three strong source (3.7-7.9 x 1015 Bq) operations in 1986. The monitoring result are as follows: the maximum exposure rate on the surface of transportation plumbic-container is 17 mR/h. The highest dose equivalent that received by the operators at one operation is about 0.91 μSv. The monitoring value of pollution or leakage radioactivity from the cobalt element is 42 Bq/element which is lower than the ISO limit (185 Bq/element). After the source has been placed in the irradiation room, the exposure rate around the room is 17 μR/h
