Description

A method is proposed which allows for the suppression of spurious centre-of-mass (c.m.) resonances occurring in the shell-model reaction theory. The method uses a modified least-squares minimization principle for the solution of the A-particle Schroedinger equation on the restricted (translational non-invariant) test function space. In particular, it renders possible the elimination of spurious states already in the solution of the dynamical equations of motion. (author)
