Cold rolling of bands of corrosion resistant steels and alloys produced by flash welding

Description
Possibility of cold rolling of bands of corrosion resistant chromium-nickel steels and alloys produced by flash welding was studied. Mechanical properties, microstructure, phase composition of the initial metal and welded oints were investigated. It was shown that levelling off oint hardness, accurate end joining, low different thickness and furr trimming flush with fine band when:gradually passing to thick end are advisable for weld rolling. The possibility of successful joining of bands of corrosion resistant steels and alloys of different structura'l classes with the use of contact butt flash welding is concluded
