Description

Full text: (author)The five dimensional SU(2) Yang monopole is the analogue of the three dimensional U(1) Dirac monopole. It is singular on the 5th axis, analogously to the singularity of the Dirac monopole on the 3rd axis. Both these monopoles arise as the singular gauge transforms of regular SO(3) and SO(5) monopoles in three and five dimensions, and then also to all even dimensions.
