Description

Results of investigation on the effect of microstructure type and deformation conditions (temperature and strain rate) on flow stress and critical strain in two-phase α + β transient titanium alloy Ti-5Al-5Mo-5V-1Cr-1Fe have been presented in this paper. The alloy in as received and softened condition was deformed on torsional plastometer at temperature range 800 - 900 oC and at the strain rate ε = 0.04 - 4.0 s-1. Decrease in plasticity was identified during deformation at 850 oC at strain rate 0.01 s-1. For the other conditions increase in temperature and strain rate results in higher critical strain and lower flow stress. (author)
