Determination of the reactions of mutant chickpea lines against Ascochyta rabiei (Pass.) Labr. races in Turkey

In this investigation, we searched the resistance reaction to A. rabiei's races of 1, 4 and 6 in M4 mutant cicer generation of Ak 71114, ILC 482 and Akcin 91 cultivars. The resistant, tolerant and susceptible lines were determined.In the field experiments with M4 mutants seeds of 75 plants of ILC 482, 24 plants of Akcin 91 and 13 plants of Ak 71114 were sown in different rows. In M4 generation, 126 plants from ILC 482, 5 from Akcin 91 and 2 from Ak 71114 were found resistant to A. rabiei. The tolerant mutant lines numbers were observed as 94 plants for ILC 482, 5 plants for Ak 71114 and 4 plants for Akcin 91. Plant height, number of seeds per plant, weight of the seeds per plant and the weight of 100 seeds in every group of resistant, tolerant and susceptible plants were measured. These values were the highest in resistant plants and the lowest in the susceptible plants.
