Description
The electrical resistivity of amorphous Cu60-Zr40 alloy is calculated on the basis of the t-matrix formulation of the Ziman nearly-free-electron theory. Experimental structure factors at different temperatures are used for calculating the variation of the electrical resistivity with temperature. The calculated values of the electrical resistivity and its temperature coefficient show reasonable agreement with the available experimental data. The observed high value of the electrical resistivity and its negative temperature coefficient for amorphous Cu60-Zr40 alloy is interpreted as due to the proximity of the Fermi momentum to the position of the first peak of the structure factors.
