Effect of chemical state of manganese-54 atoms on their decay probability
Creators
Description
The effect of the chemical state of manganese-54 atoms, which changes as a result of redox reactions in solutions, on the probability of nuclear transformation is studied when measuring the changes of γ-radiation intensity (ΔI/I) accompanying electron capture. The samples in the form of solutions containing manganese-54 in different oxidation states are investigated. The values ΔI/I (Mnsup((2))-Mnsub((7)))=-(9.0+-2.5)x10sup(-4); ΔI/I(Mnsup((7))-Mnsup((2)))=+(9.5+-2.0x10sup(-4) are obtained
