Effect of substerilizing gamma dose on mating competitiveness of Trogoderma granarium Everts males through three filial generations

  • 1. Nuclear Research Center, Cairo (Egypt)

Description

When newly-emerged males of Trogoderma granarium were exposed to 75 Gy, the irradiated males were semisterile when they were paired with untreated females. When F1 sons of irradiated males were added to untreated adults at I [male]: U [male]: U [female] ratios of 1:1:1, 5:1:1, 10:1:1 and 15:1:1, the percentage egg hatch decreased from 77.8 in the controls to 64.4 at the ratio 1:1:1 and to 46.2, 40.9 and 38.9 at ratios 5:1, 10:1 and 15:1, resp
