Formation and properties of V0-centers in BeO crystals
- 1. Ural'skij Politekhnicheskij Inst., Sverdlovsk (USSR)
Description
The work is aimed at detailed analysis of ESR spectrum related to V0-centers in BeO, study of their formation, accumulation kinetics, temperature stability and decomposition mechanism. Measurements of ESR spectra of nominally pure crystals of beryllium oxide irradiated by fast neutrons (fluence of 1016-1019 cm-2) are made using the ESR spectrometer ER201 (X-range) at 10 K. Formation of stable cation vacancies in the form of Vo-centers as a result of neutron irradiation is ascertained. A new line in the ESR spectrum is detected and identified, accumulation kinetics and mechanisms of Vo-center annealing-consecutive liberation of holes in the range of 500-650K and recombination of cation vacancy-interstitial pair in the range of 600-750K - are studied
