On the Reflection of Hydrogen and Deuterium Atoms from a Tungsten Crystal in the Surface Channeling Mode
Description
Abstract—
The reflection coefficients and angular distributions of scattered particles under the bombardment of amorphous and crystalline tungsten targets by hydrogen and deuterium atoms are calculated. A reflection coefficient that is close to 100% is observed in the case of grazing angles of incidence on the crystalline targets. It is planned that tungsten in the form of polycrystalline plates will be used as the material for the ITER tokamak divertor. This phenomenon should be taken into account when calculating the energy input into the divertor.Additional details
