Measurements of the electron temperature in the T-10 tokamak using carbon pellet injection

Description
Known methods for measuring electron temperature Tsub(e) in tokamaks such as the Thompson scattering, X-ray and SHF methods are not enough reliable in a peripheral zone either due to a low signal level or superhigh radiation nature. This promotes development of new methods for measuring temperature. This paper contains results of experiments on Tsub(e)(r) profiledetermination in the T-10 tokamak by injection of carbon microparticles at omic and SHF heating regimes. The technique described permitted to obtain Tsub(e)(r) profile in the range of particle evaporation during approximately 1-2 ms. The range of measured temperatures Tsub(e) amounted to 100-1000 eV. Experimental data are compared with Tsub(e)(r) values obtained by means of X ray diagnostics and diagnostics by radiation at the second harmonics of cyclotron frequency
