Digital display for collective usage

The paper describes a version of a planar digital display using discrete gas-discharge devices, which is distinguished by a long service life and lower power consumption. The construction of a display cell ensures uniform luminescence of all of the segments with the required brightness. Integrated circuits are used in the device which controls the display. The character display device is used as the basis for designing a digital tableau with a number size 74x46 mm in order to depict information on the magnitude of the beam current of the LU-20 linear proton accelerator
