Motion and Time in Medical Physics

Description

In this report for an Accreditation to Supervise Research (HDR), after an overview of his curriculum, the author presents and comments his works related to time and movement management in medical physics. He first addresses some aspects of the radiotherapy technique (history of equipment, processing stages, dose definition and calculation with various algorithms). Then, he addresses the issue of breathing movements in radiotherapy: movement amplitudes, technologies for breathing management, studies of breathing-controlled radiotherapy. In the next part, the author reports his works in the development of Monte Carlo modelling (use of the GATE platform, time curves, dose calculation in stereotactic body radiotherapy). He reports the analysis of the case of total body irradiation, and presents his current projects and associated perspectives
