Chemical behavior of TRU wastes in the underground environments

Description
Neptunium chemical form and dissolution-precipitation phenomena in the ground water environments were experimentally studied by paper electrophoresis, ion exchange and ultrafiltration. Among these methods, paper electrophoresis was found to be most suitable. Under anoxic conditions, precipitation was found to be very important for considering chemical behavior of neptunium. Experimentally verified speciation was compared with Pourbaix diagram and some important thermodynamic data for complexes of neptunium were evaluated. (author)
