Two years of PETRA operation
Description
Having considered the performance of the large electron-positron storage ring PETRA, typical processes in e+e- annihilation are examined and the experimental programme for the facility is examined. Fields of investigation discussed include, tests of QED, lepton universality and weak interaction, hadron production, quark jets and the search for new particles, gluon bremsstrahlung and QCD, two photon physics, and the search for free quarks.
