The papers and discussions of a colloquim presented in this paper give an outline of the state of development and planning of HTR reactors, especially their safety. Due to its special safety characteristics, the sites available in West Germany, and its future role in coal utilisation, the HTR should be paid particular attention. (orig./RW)

Abstract (German)

Die in der vorliegenden Broschuere gesammelten Referate und Diskussionsbeitraege eines Kolloquiums vermitteln einen Ueberblick ueber den Stand der Entwicklung und Planung von Hochtemperaturreaktoren und befassen sich schwerpunktmaessig mit deren Sicherheit. Dem Hochtemperaturreaktor sollte wegen seiner besonderen Sicherheitseigenschaften, den in der Bundesrepublik gegebenen Standortverhaeltnissen und der abzusehenden Bedeutung fuer die Kohleveredelung verstaerkte Aufmerksamkeit geschenkt werden. Darum moechte ich mit dieser Veroeffentlichung einem groesseren Interessentenkreis Gelegenheit geben, sich mit der Sicherheitsproblematik dieser Reaktortechnologie auseinanderzusetzen. (orig./RW)
