Heavy ion dynamics at intermediate energy
Description
Heavy ion collision theories are examined since, it is suggested, a mathematical description of such collisions is required which is simple enough to be solved on the computer while being sufficiently general to encompass the range of behaviour possible in a many-body system. In addition experiments must be identified which are most sensitive to the underlying dynamics and it is argued here that experiments which measure as many particles as possible emerging from each collision are most relevant to the analysis of the important parameters of nuclear matter dynamics.
