Description

Purpose: To enhance the control worths of fuel control rods by providing wrapper tubes in an fbr type reactor with a function of a guide tube to thereby increase the loading amount of neutron absorbers. Constitution: A cylindrical wrapper tube having both of the function as a hexagonal wrapper tube and a control rod guide tube is provided and spacer pads are attached to its outerside. The protection tube in the wrapper tube contains neutron absorbers filled in cladding tubes. The loading amount of the absorbers can be increased so much by the space of the guide tube. The equivalent diameter of the absorption rod bundle is increased to thereby increase the control rod worths. (Horiuchi, T.)
