EPR spectra of products from gamma-radiolysis of adsorbed methane
Creators
Description
Radical radiolysis products adsorbed on silica, titano gel, fine-grain zirconium oxide and other methane sorbents were studied by the EPR method. During γ-irradiation of adsorbed methane in the surface layer of sorbent, more complex hydrocarbons (alkyl radicals), and also implanted structures (implanted radicals) registered in EPR spectra have been shown to form. The results obtained are interpreted within the framework of the model of chemical participation of adsorbent in radiation-chemical reactions. Stabilization of methyl radicals in ultrapores of sorbent oxides characterized by different forbidden band widths is considered
