Radiation protection during radiometric gage operation
Description
Physical and technical characteristics of radiometric gages (RG) used in different branches of industry for determination of density, humidity and thickness of different materials, control of the level of liquids and friable substances, measUrement of dust and smoke content in rooms as well as for neutralization of static electricity are considered. Sanitary and hygienic aspects of radiation protection during the RG operation and measures providing the RG radiation safety are discussed. Accidents and measures on their removal are analyzed. It is noted that at present RG are applied under different conditions at high temperature, vibration and impact loads, dust content and in corrosion aggressive media where ordinary measuring instruments cannot be utiliz
