Rescattering of fast particles inside a nucleus in leading logarithmic approximation of QCD
Description
Intercation between high-energy hadrons and nuclei is studied in the framework of the QCD leading logarithmic approximation (LLA). It is shown that due to frequent rescattering inside the nucleus, there is no contribution from the usual LLA mechanism of formation of intermediate ladder gluons and quarks whose lifetime exceeds their mean free pathes. hence, partons with large momentum transfer q2 dominate in the interaction, because with growth of q2, the rescattering cross section σ ∞ 1/q2 and time τ ∼ E/q2 decreases and the mean free path l ∞ 1/σ increases
