Dosimetric control at installations with radioisotope instruments including gamma sources

  • 1. Nauchno-Issledovatel'skij Inst. Radiatsionnoj Gigieny, Leningrad (USSR)

Description

The possibility for applying dosemeters and radiometers of different types for dosimetric monitoring at installations with radioisotope devices (RID) is investigated. The measurements are done using devices with level indicators for which gamma relays with 137Cs sources with the activity of 100-122 GBq are used as well as densimeters with analogous sources and sources on the base of 137Cs with the activity of 22-67 GBq. On the basis of analysis of the data obtained the conclusion is made that for correct estimation of RID radiation doze rates the measurements must be carried out using devices the sensitivity of which does not depend on the energy in a sufficiency wide range. Among dosimeters commercially produced nowadays the DRGZ-02 and DRGZ-01 devices meet these requirements
