New possibilities of uranium production
Description
In order to safeguard the supply of uranium beyond the exhaustion, expected to occur around 1990, of the presently assured uranium reserves mined at economically reasonable prices, various approaches will have to be tried: reserves so far classified only as probable reserves must be changed into assured ones; new techniques of extraction and dressing will have to be applied to add to the deposits which can be mined at economical prices; new sources of uranium production, e.g., the sea, phosphates etc., must be tapped. Abstract (German)
Um die Uranversorgung auch nach seiner um 1990 zu erwartenden Erschoepfung zu sichern, ist es notwendig, dass ausser den jetzigen sicheren Uranreserven, die zu wirtschaftlich tragbaren Preisen gewonnen werden, auch andere Aspekte ins Auge gefasst werden muessen: Bisher nur vermutete Reserven muessen in sichere ueberfuehrt werden; neue Verfahren der Gewinnungs- und Aufbereitungstechnik muessen die wirtschaftlich abbaubaren Vorkommen erweitern; neue Quellen der Urangewinnung, z.B. aus dem Meer, aus Phosphaten usw. muessen realisiert werden.
