First experience in irradiation planning of combined tele- and brachytherapy of gynecological tumors by means of CT intersection pictures

Description
Dose distributions of a combination from telecobalt arctherapy and afterloading therapy for radiation therapy of gynecological cancers were calculated, using a computer program developed in our institute. Based on CT scans the bone structures were considered to be inhomogenities. Conclusions about the individual dose on sensitive organs in the irradiated area like bladder and rectum become possible. The influence of changing parameters such like center distance of arctherapy are shown. (author)
