Device for determining the radiation of a radioactively labelled substance incorporated into the human body

The detector serves to determine the radiation of a radioactively labelled substance incorporated into the human body (nuclear medicine). The detector is designed as a compact unit containing one or several HgJ2 crystals, a shift register as memory, its own power supply, and a digital display. Several of the detectors, like a mosaic, may be fastened on to a belt being put around the body or moved over the body and forming some kind of portable bevel camera. On the other hand the housing of the detector may be designed so small, round, and tight that it may be swallowed by or inplanted into the patient. (DG)
