Description
An attempt is made to extend the information about the properties of spent nuclear fuel and its parameters by using fission product burnup monitors hitherto not yet or insufficiently investigated. An independent and reliable method of determining the contribution of the individual fissionable nuclides to the fission process could be based on stable isotopes of the fission product ruthenium. The fission product molybdenum is used as an example. The fundamentals of the method are given, and the techniques of separating the monitors as well as features of the instrumental techniques of determining their concentration are described. (author)
