Description
The electromagnetic field distributions and solutions for an infinitely long superconducting cylinder placed parallel to an infinitely long normal conducting wire carrying an alternating current, are obtained. The propagation behavior of the fields within the cylinder is investigated in terms of the propagation constant as a function of the London penetration depth. The power loss on the cylinder surface is calculated. (orig.)
