Wake-binding energies in the random-phase approximation

Description

The binding energies of electrons trapped in the oscillatory wake of electron-density fluctuations trailing a fast ion in a solid have been evaluated within random-phase approximation linear-response theory. The results are found to be consistent with earlier calculations
