Stable timinig spectrometer for measuring the positron lifetime
Creators
Description
A spectrometer designed for measuring positron lifetime in solids is described. The spectrometer is based on the K 500 fast-fast coincidence microelectronic circuits. Spectrometer characteristic properties are: a) absence of additional semiconductor devices for microcircuit operation level shift; b) presence of a temperature stabilization system inside a timing block; c) use of a time-to-amplitude converter designed on the basis of pulse overlap and ''Start-Stop'' methods. Main spectrometer performances are: input resistance is 500 Ω; permissible duration of input pulses is 5-30 ns at the amplitude of 0.2-5 V; input pulse polarity is negative; output pulse duration is 2 μs at maximum amplitude of 2 V; real time resolution is 360 ns
