CO2 post-injection monitoring and post-closure phase at the Ketzin pilot site. Final report

Description

The final report covers the first completion of the entire CO2 storage life cycle with focus on the post-injection monitoring and post-closure phase at the Ketzin pilot site. The pilot project is the basis for a large-scale climate relevant implementation of the CCS (carbon dioxide capture and storage) technology. During 2008 to 2013 carbon dioxide was injected in the saline aquifer of the Stuttgart formation in a depth of 620 - 630 m. The project has shown that the safe on-shore storage of carbon dioxide according the EU CCS directives (2009) is feasible.
