Thermal and acoustic effects in gamma-quantum irradiated amorphous alloys Ti-Ni-Cu

Description

Paper presents the result of investigations into the influence of gamma-irradiation on thermal and acoustic effects in Ti-Ni-Cu amorphous alloys. On the basis of the obtained results one suggests a mechanism of influence of gamma-quanta irradiation on structure of amorphous alloys (ASS). At gamma-quanta flow interaction with ASS the energy is redistributed and is accumulated at inter-cluster boundaries. Then when a complete rearrangement of all cluster boundaries is reached, variation in structure of locally regular clusters resulting in its turn, in rearrangement of inter-cluster boundaries, takes place. Further increase of irradiation dose starts up mechanism of inter-cluster boundaries again, but at another level. It manifests itself in oscillating character of energy variations of relaxation process activities and of processes of amorphous structure → crystalline structure phase transformations. 18 refs., 4 figs
