Is a nucleon core being seen in high-energy elastic pp scattering at large momentum transfer
Description
New elastic pp scattering data at high energy and large momentum transfer from CERN ISR and Fermilab are analyzed in a model where the nucleon has a core. Calculated differential cross sections fit the data remarkably well over the entire energy and momentum transfer range. This seems to strongly indicate the existence of a nucleon core. The core can be interpreted as originating from the valence quarks in a nucleon
