Phonon spectra and thermodynamic properties of REM hexaborides

Description
Phonon spectra g(ν) of MB3 rare earth hexaborides were calculated in MB* + B (B* = B6) first approximation ignoring bond between atoms of metal and boron, and in approximation taking account of the mentioned bond. On the basis of g(ν) dependences one calculated temperature variations of specific heat compared with the experimental values within 5 - 300 K range. One determined different effect of oscillations on bonds in sublattices of metal, boron and between sublattices on values of thermodynamic functions of hexaborides under low and increased temperatures
Abstract (Russian)
Фононные спектры g(ν) гексаборидов РЗЭ МВ3 рассчитаны в первом приближении MB* + B (B* = B6), без учета связи между атомами металла и бора, и в приближении, учитывающем эту связь. По зависимостям g(ν) рассчитаны температурные изменения теплоемкости, сопоставленные с экспериментальными величинами в области 5 - 300 К. Выявлено различное влияние колебаний на связях в подрешетке металла, бора и между подрешетками на величины термодинамических функций гексаборидов при низких и повышенных температурахAdditional details
