Dose verification by partial evacuation of traps

  • 1. Kurukshetra Univ. (India). Dept. of Physics

Description

A technique for dose verification in thermoluminescent dosimeters using partial evacuation of one group of deep traps is described. The investigations have shown that the factors affecting the uniformity of dose measurements may be minimised by using the same heating rate while the maximum temperatures in successive cycles were increasing. Peak intensities recorded at different temperatures in such cycles were normalized so as to match conventional methods of dose measurements. The technique has been applied to CaS:Bi and CaSO4:Dy dosimeters to verify ultraviolet, α and γ-doses. (U.K.)
