The off-shell momentum as a variational parameter in calculation of matrix Pade approximants in potential scattering

Description

In calculations using matrix Pade approximants, an off-shell momentum (or several off-shell momenta) are introduced. In previous work, this momentum was chosen arbitrarily and not varied. However, it is a variational parameter and may be varied to find points where the phase shift has an extreme value. At such points, the matrix Pade approximants are extraordinarily accurate even for potentials with strong repulsive cores

Abstract (French)

Dans les calculs utilisant les approximants de Pade des matrices, on introduit un (ou plusieurs) moment hors-couche. Dans des travaux anterieurs on a choisi arbitrairement ce moment et on ne l'a pas fait varier. Cependant c'est un parametre variationnel que l'on peut faire varier pour trouver des points ou le dephasage a une valeur extreme. En de tels points, les approximants de Pade des matrices sont extremement precis meme pour des potentiels avec coeurs fortement repulsifs
