MR angiography of the renal and pelvic arteries

Description

This paper evaluates the accuracy of time-of-flight (TOF) MR angiography (MRA) for depicting pathology involving the renal and pelvic arteries. For the renal arteries, the authors performed axial three-dimensional (3D) TOF MRA in 18 patients who underwent conventional angiography (CA). For the pelvic arteries, axial sequential two-dimensional (2D) and axial 3D TOF MRA was performed in 9 patients. The authors separated the pelvic arteries into six parts and evaluated them separately. Projection angiograms were fabricated by the application of a maximum-intensity projection algorithm. a prospective blinded comparison of MRA and CA was performed
