Description
Possibility of polymorphous modification formation under ion metal alloying is considered. Interfacial boundary and elastic strain field energies are determined in the atom interaction pair model potential approximation. Possibility of stimulated polymorphous transformations in metals under the presence in the system of finely dispersed carbide nuclei is demonstrated. Critical carbon concentrations, necessary for realization of polymorphous transformations, occuring in Nb, are found. A theoretical scheme for determining conditions for the transformation indicated is developed
