Environmental impact assessment of airborne radioactive effluents from a coal-fired power plant
Description
According to the distribution of concentrations of natural radionuclides in air near ground and their depositions on ground, the dose assessement was given for a coal-fired power plant in Suzhou City. Normalized individual and collective effective dose equivalents within an area with a radius of 100 km around the plant were estimasted through internal and external exposure path due to food intake, dust inhelation and γ exposure from radionuclides depositing on ground. The results showed that the maximun polluted zone was located downwind SW-NW direcition and about 1 km far from the plant stack, where normalized individual effective dose equivalent was 4.17 x 10-4 Sv/GWa, and normalized collective effective dose equivalens was 40 man·Sv/GWa for 2.7 x 107 persons of the public within 100 km radius
