[Comment on paper by Sabol and Dalgaard]. Original of the cubic rate law in zirconium alloy oxidation
Description
An analysis and critique is presented of an article by G. P. Sabol and S. B. Dalgaard on the origin of the cubic rate law in Zr alloy oxidation. The authors are in basic agreement with the hypothesis for oxygen transport in growing oxide adopted by Sabol and Dalgaard. However, demonstrable proof of the relations between crystallite size in the oxide film and the kinetics of the process requires considerably more care than was shown in the article
