Influence of alloying and austenization temperature on phase composition and properties of corresion resisting maraging steels

Description

To determine the main principles of alloying of corrosion-resisting maraging steel the effect of nickel, cobalt and molybdenum on phase composition was determined. Diagrams permitting to ascertain phase composition of Fe-Cr-Ni-Co-Mo-Ti alloys, attained as a result of quenching from different temperatures of austenization, and to select the optimal composition, ensuring the production of monophase martensitic structure, have been plotted. It is found that the widest range of existence for monophase martenositic structure for steels on the basis of Fe-0.03%C-12.5%Cr-(0-1)%Ti-(3-7)%Mo-(0-12)%Ni-(0-20)%Co is achieved at the quenching temperatures approximatelly 1000 deg C
