Direct electronic imaging of ionizing events in liquids

The advent of very low noise amplifiers and the development of purification techniques which can reach purities of the order of less than one part per billion of oxigen equivalent have opened the way to a number of applicaitons in which liquids, rather than gases are used to record ionizing events in liquid media and some applications of direct read-out from liquids with high electron mobility, which are actively developed at CERN, are discussed
