Production of rubidium-81
Description
The cyclotron production of rubidium-81 for the 81Rb→/sup 81m/Kr generator is reviewed, with emphasis on nuclear reactions, production yields, target selection, ease of radiochemical manipulations to load multiple generators, and the present international capability for production and shipment of clinical generators. The major difficulty with the generator is the 4.58-hr half-life of 81Rb which restricts its distribution
